About Me
My interest in drawing and painting is life long starting with my first box of crayons. After I attempted to make paint by melting them, my parents wisely bought me a set of watercolors.

I believe all of nature has a spiritual energy which I convey through the use of light and color: an unexpected dash of turquoise or red, the warm bright tones of sunlight on a field, a soft glow on the horizon.

I was born in Michigan and my paintings first captured the sand dunes and lighthouses along the shores of Lake Michigan.  Visits to the Florida coast resulted in peaceful beach scenes, the jewel toned  water and towering cumulus clouds.  A move to Georgia inspired Southern country themes: old barns and lots of trees. On visits to New Mexico my imagination was fired by the spectacular scenery of the high desert.

I have studied with established artists in their studios, been part of critique groups, life study, sketching and painting classes and have had an intense learning experience; a process that is ongoing.

I paint mostly in oil and acrylic mediums working in the studio from onsite sketches and photos. I am a member of the Atlanta Artist Center in Buckhead in Atlanta, The Art Station in Stone Mountain, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
